Rob Hitchcock, who took over his father's pool business, leads FreeStyle Pools to win Australia’s best pool award from Poolz. The award-winning pool is a luxurious, infinity-edged structure built entirely above ground, overlooking Sydney’s Middle Harbour.
Rob Hitchcock , who had initially pursued a career in engineering, eventually took over his father's pool-building business and turned it into a successful venture. With his brother Ben, he led FreeStyle Pools to win the award for Australia’s best pool from online pool marketplace Poolz in 2024. The award-winning pool is a luxurious, infinity-edged swimming pool built for a waterfront client in Seaforth, Sydney , overlooking Middle Harbour.
It was constructed entirely above ground, making it more challenging than a regular pool build. The pool, completed in late 2022, is 10 meters long and 3.5 meters wide, costing around $300,000 to $350,000 to construct. Additionally, it won two more awards for best out-of-ground pool and the people's choice award for best concrete pool, while Hitchcock’s own personal pool on the Central Coast won the award for best family pool. In Victoria, David Jarman and Lewis Moran from Coolabah Building and Landscapes also won three awards
