Biden will always have a chance because there are a large number of voters who simply will never vote for Trump. But Biden’s chances are worse than almost any other person the Democrats could nominate. Right now, the race is a referendum on Biden’s competency to serve four more years, and that referendum will not go well for Biden. Literally any other nominee for Democrats makes this race a referendum on whether or not Trump is fit to return to office, and that’s what Democrats should want.
This was a poor first ad. It foolishly attacks Kean as being corrupt. Nothing could be more absurd or non-believable. For all the criticism that Kean has endured in his 20+ years in office and multiple runs for higher office, the one thing that not even his harshest critics have ever suggested is any hint of corruption. No matter what you think of his politics Tom Kean is a decent, honest, ethical public servant – a good husband, good dad, good person.
