Experience the wonder of Belfast's growing cultural diversity over nine wonderful days

Now recognised as one of Northern Ireland's largest arts festivals, the 18th Belfast Mela will bring together music, dance, art, theatre, wellbeing and food from around the world to celebrate the city’s growing cultural diversity.

Around 1,000 participants representing more than 15 different cultural groups will be taking part with pulsating world music and dance and amazing sculptures finishing at City Hall for Mini Mela, where live global on stage performances will be hosted by U105’s Carolyn Stewart and UTV’s Paul Reilly, along with arts workshops.Belfast Mela has teamed up with Academy at Ulster University to bring you the next Silk Road Supper Club as part of the annual festival.

Enjoy dancing with a DJ and sensory activities that are guaranteed to have everyone wiggling their fingers and bouncing in their babygrows! Tickets are £8 and booking is required.Sharing common themes and stories that connect the cultures of the two regions, ‘Citadels of the Sun’ refers to a recurring edifice in both cultures: Mehrangarh fort in Rajasthan, and Grianán of Aileach, Donegal’s own fort of the sun.

The Mela transforms the park into a magical global garden filled with the sights, sounds and aromas of nations right around the world. Music, dance, arts and culture come together to create a heady, good humoured atmosphere which invites the world into the heart of our city.
