'What they are paid per hour just isn't on - if the general public knew, they'd be horrified'
Court security staff are on picket lines this morning for the first of a four-day strike over pay. Members of the Public and Commercial Services union employed by OCS, which provides security services to courts in England and Wales, are taking industrial action today .

They [OCS] are going to use this as part of their PR splurge to get more contracts, and they are paying people peanuts. These are honest working people who do an incredible, very important job. What they are paid per hour just isn't on. I think if the general public knew that, they'd be horrified."
"What we need is working people to be paid a fair wage for the work that they do. It's one of those services that we all just expect. We all watch the news, we all see people coming in and out of courts. We see them doing that safely, and there's a reason why they do that safely, it's because we've got workers who do that job above and beyond."
