Heavy rain and strong winds are set to hit Nottinghamshire and parts of the UK as Storm Ciarán arrives. As of 10.10am on Thursday, November 2, five flood alerts were in place across the county and nearby areas.
Weather officials have issued yellow and amber warnings across the UK as the storm is forecast to bring rain and huge gusts of wind. It follows Storm Babet which caused severe flooding in parts of Nottinghamshire less than two weeks ago.
According to the Met Office rain is forecast for most of the day in Nottingham, with heavy rain from 2pm until 7pm this evening, and light rain to continue into the early hours of tomorrow morning. With Storm Ciaran’s arrival, there are flood alerts in place for Nottinghamshire.Flood alerts mean flooding is possible. With 5 flood alerts for Nottinghamshire and surrounding areas, the Government website reads: "Flooding is possible in this area.
