Parents across Scotland still have time to register with their local council to get help with the costs of school clothing and shoes for the 2024/2025 academic year. This help is called a 'School Clothing Grant' and is a cash payment worth at least £120 which is paid directly into your bank account.
In the Highlands, grants of £160 are available for primary school pupils and £172 for those in secondary school, while in Clackmannanshire, payments amount to £145 for primary school and £185 for secondary school. National advice agency Advice Direct Scotland is urging people to check their eligibility for support, especially those who may have started claiming benefits over the holidays due to a change in circumstances.
