World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler was arrested Friday morning after a misunderstanding with a police officer.
The world's No. 1 golfer, Scottie Scheffler, had a pretty rough morning as he was making his way to the entrance of the Valhalla Golf Club. Scheffler is still scheduled to play Friday despite his early-morning arrest and the potentially massive fallout to him and to a major golf tournament.
Jeff Darlington of ESPN recorded a video of Scheffler being arrested, showing him being detained in handcuffs.Scheffler put out a statement following the events of this morning.'This morning, I was proceeding as directed by police officers. It was a very chaotic situation, understandably so considering the tragic accident that had occurred earlier, and there was a big misunderstanding of what I thought I was being asked to do. I never intended to disregard any of the instructions.
