'As someone from an abusive childhood, I could only dream of higher education'
An inspiring fundraiser who survived an abusive childhood to go on and raise millions of pounds for children's charities has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate. Michael Josephson MBE has touched the lives of thousands after sharing his own story of battling back from adversity, and dedicating his adult life to raising a total of £8.5million which has helped others in need.
"I would also like to congratulate all the students who graduated alongside me, and say very well done for the many hours you have spent and years of hard work. What a wonderful day!" "But I’m here today, I’m dancing and I’ve even done Strictly Come Dancing for charity. I spend 10 hours a day fighting to get support with my charity work, whether it is sick children, deprived children, bullied children, abused children. All I want to do is to help children and that is my legacy.”
Professor HH William Morris said: "Michael is an incredible charity campaigner, successful businessman and mental health awareness advocate, and has dedicated himself to supporting young, underprivileged people.
