He enjoyed socialising in the local pubs, watching horse racing, playing dominoes and was a talented snooker and pool player.
Son of the late Harry and Phyllis Horne, brother of Jean and Leonard, and brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, cousin and great friend to many. He loved to travel both with family and friends, family holidays camping in the UK and abroad, villas in Portugal and family trips to France took place alongside trips skiing and climbing with ‘the lads’, and various motorcycle rallies with friends. The funeral will be held on Friday, January 31 at 2pm, Trinity Baptist Church, Bacup, then Burnley Crematorium at 3.15pm and afterwards at the Ashcroft, Whitworth. His family would like to invite all those who knew him to celebrate his life.
Marilyn worked for Mannings, then ran the Hargreaves Arm Pub, then prior to retirement worked as a home help.She leaves behind her husband Michael, mum of the late Christopher, cousin John, nephews Jonathan, Lee, Matthew and Mark and their families. A service will be held on Tuesday, February 6 at Central, Burnley Road, Bacup at 1pm, then to Burnley Crematorium at 2.30pm conducted by the Rev David Burrow.Funeral director: Paul Swarbrick for Knight and Boys.
