Boxing superstars Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are set to earn a combined £150 million from their highly anticipated rematch in Riyadh.
Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury are set to share in a reported £150m fight purse for their rematch this weekend in Riyadh. The pair fought in May this year with Brit boxer Fury losing to the Ukrainian Usyk via a split decision. No official details have been disclosed about how the purse will be divided this weekend, although there are suggestions it could be 55:45 in Usyk ’s favour. Fury has admitted in previous interviews that he is only fighting for the money in this match.
Oleksandr Usyk goes into this match on the A-side and so is expected to take home the greater proportion of the prize money after Saturday night. With an extra £35m in the purse, he can expect to see a significant pay increase when he returns to the Saudi capital. Fury is estimated to have a personal fortune of £40m. Both books have been bestsellers. The self-titled “Gypsy King” also has his own brand Furocity energy drink and has been the star of a Netflix reality show about his family. Aside from his Riyadh payout in May, the Olympic gold medallist is reported to have sponsorship deals with Technocom (Ukraine’s leading mobile operator) and boxing equipment and apparel firms Rival Boxing Gear and Venum
