BBC sports presenter Gabby Logan shares her experience of navigating life after her children left home. While she expected to feel more grief, she describes the transition as a 'slow and interesting change'. She acknowledges occasional moments of feeling 'strange' but is embracing new possibilities and supporting her children's sporting pursuits.
Gabby Logan has opened up about a significant change in her family life, revealing that she was "waiting to feel grief" after her children left home.
The 51-year-old explained: "I was waiting to feel more grief, so hopefully we're finding a balance. Maybe I'm saying yes to things that I wouldn't usually say yes to. It's a slow and interesting change. It doesn't feel dramatic, but I'm sure that when I look back in a year, I'll realise that things have changed a lot."
Last August, Gabby had spoken about preparing for Lois' departure on her Midlife with Gabby Logan podcast, noting that her daughter's university schedule would mean longer periods without seeing her, saying: "Lois is going to be more semi-permanent, because she's not going to be coming home during the week, she's not going to be coming home every weekend like he does. So we might go three or four weeks without seeing her.
