Gabby Logan,51 joined the Chris Evans Breakfast to discuss 'The Prostate episode' she recorded with her husband Kenny, about his Prostate cancer diagnosis. She explained the risks of erections 'never coming back' and effects on their relationship.
Have YOU got a story? Email [email protected] Logan has revealed the secret to how she and husband Kenny make their 23-year marriage work so well.
The Sports presenter has been happily married to the retired Scottish rugby player for two decades after they tied the knot in 2001Like any marriage, Gabby says 'communication, having fun and making time to be together' is the key to happiness. 'The secret is to keep making an effort. Not to be crude, but if you had an amazing sports car, you couldn’t leave it in a garage for 15 years and expect it to work straight away. If you have something special, you need to look after it.'Kenny was diagnosed with cancer in February 2022 after Gabby urged him to go to the doctors.
But Gabby also stressed the importance of making effort, admitting: 'If you have something special, you need to look after it' 'I think the reason why I wanted to talk about it candidly was because, of course, if you've been together with somebody for a long time, and that's a big part of your relationship then it is something that is going to affect the dynamics.'He was obviously wanting us to be the couple that we were before and obviously was facing up to this potential huge physical change.
'Within a month, I was getting movement, where he says,"That’s amazing". So it’s just not as consistent. The beauty is you can take a tablet and it changes things.'Reiterating the need for all men his age to get checked, he said: 'If I can help one person, that’d be great. But I’ve probably helped a lot of people with the coverage it had.'
