Eight members of the gang have now been jailed
An organised crime gang audaciously kidnapped a ‘major drug dealer’ in the street after posing as police officers, before subjecting him to 12 hours of torture while demanding a £500,000 ransom.

His kidnappers believed he would have ‘ready access to substantial amounts of cash and prohibited drugs’, prosecutor Henry Blackshaw said.
Then on April 11, 2019, the gang struck as the victim left Snipz barbers in Hale. He was approached by Daniel Lowe, Ben Ukaegbu and John Bishop, as police officers. They told him he was under arrest on suspicion of ‘class A drug dealing’. He took it at ‘face value’, Mr Blackshaw said, and ‘acquiesced’ as he was handcuffed and placed in an Audi A6.
Two men, Ben Ukaegbu and John Bishop, were both arrested at the scene. Walfall fled to Spain but was extradited back to the UK in November 2020. Nicky Barnes, Daniel Lowe and Michael Etuhu were arrested later. Today, Shaun Freeman, 29, of Rosshill Walk, Hulme; and Delroy Chin, 47, of Billington Road, Northampton, who fitted a tracker onto the victim’s car, were sentenced after being found guilty of conspiracy to kidnap after a trial. Micah Walfall, 40, of Pen Court, Northampton, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to kidnap and was sentenced alongside them. Walfall was sentenced to 11 years and three months. Freeman was sentenced to nine years while Chin was jailed for 11 years.
