Curtis Warren, who was banned from entering Scotland in 2022 after he was released from prison, was given a suspended sentence today.
A convicted gangster banned from Scotland to stop him offending north of the border has dodged jail despite breaching a serious crime prevention order.
Warren had been due to stand trial charged with 18 breaches of the order, but changed his pleas to six of the counts. Paul Mitchell, prosecuting, asked the court to lie the remaining counts on file. He was arrested in July last year for breaching the order after an early morning raid by National Crime Agency officers.
Top news stories today Speaking at the time of his arrest, Alison Abbott, from the NCA’s Lifetime Management of Offenders Team, said: “These court orders are vital tools for preventing and deterring future offending. Once criminals come onto our radar, they never leave, and the NCA will take action over breaches.”
