The Met Office is predicting another heatwave this weekend
Despite the recent respite from the heatwave, as rain has taken over, the Met Office forecasts a return of scorching weather by Sunday. A heat health alert has been issued by the weather authorities for parts of England, anticipating a sizzling Sunday ahead.
As we prepare for the heat, it's vital that gardening enthusiasts keep their lawns in tip-top shape. An expert from iCanLawn advises: "Making sure your mowing is kept on top of in the coming weeks will help you to keep the hands off the mower when it's too hot. However if you simply can't resist, make sure to mow on the highest setting of your lawnmower."
Notably, iCanLawn stresses caution against fertilising during heatwaves due to potential damage: "It's not a good time to fertilise the lawn, either, due to the risk of 'fertiliser burn' in hot weather." Looking ahead, the Met Office forecast indicates a shift in weather patterns: "Temperatures are expected to rise again by the start of next week, especially for those in the south and east."
