Gary Lineker has responded to claims of bias against Nottingham Forest on Match of the Day after the Reds' stunning victory at Liverpool was broadcast second on the show
Gary Lineker has addressed rumours of partiality on Match of the Day towards Nottingham Forest following victory over Liverpool.
Despite Forest's impressive start to the season, culminating in a 1-0 win at Anfield - their first since 1969 - the match was not the lead feature on Match of the Day, instead coming after Aston Villa's victory against Everton, reports the Mirror.READ MORE: 'Crazy' scenes, X-rated interview, Nuno spotted - how Nottingham Forest celebrated incredible win
He continued, noting the irony given that some of the show's staff are Forest supporters: "So they complained a lot and they were on again 'they're gonna have to say something nice about us, they'll hate that' which is quite fun because one of our producers as you know, Finchy, is a big Forest fan and our floor manager Marco is another Forest fan.
In a conversation with Richards, Lineker disclosed that Forest was initially set to headline Saturday's show after discussions with the show's editor Richard Hughes.
