Gary Neville and Mike Dean both said the incident between Liverpool and Chelsea wasn't similar to the one that saw William Saliba sent off for Arsenal against Bournemouth
Mike Dean said that the decision not to send off Tosin for Chelsea against Liverpool was correct after describing the incident as 'completely different' to the one that saw William Saliba dismissed for Arsenal against Bournemouth. Tosin dragged down Diogo Jota just past the halfway line inside the opening 10 minutes of the game at Anfield and was swiftly booked by referee John Brooks.
The defender was deemed to have denied Cherries forward Evanilson a goalscoring opportunity. However, ex-Premier League referee Mike Dean, speaking on Sky Sports' coverage of the game, said the two incidents were different because of the direction of the ball and the present of Reece James asa a covering defender. He said: 'It's completely different to yesterday. There's too much doubt involved it. The ball is going towards the officials on the side.
