Gas prices still remain higher than a week ago
Americans experienced some relief at the pumps this weekend as the average price for a gallon of regular gas slightly decreased over Memorial Day Weekend. Tuesday, the average price for a gallon of regular gas, according to AAA, is $3.592. This figure, a slight decrease from Monday’s average of $3.593, indicates a continuing trend of fluctuating gas pricesHowever, gas prices are still more expensive than this time last week.
Yet, despite this increase and fluctuating prices within the last week, gas prices are still less expensive than they were a month ago. According to AAA, the average cost for a gallon of regular gas 30 days ago was $3.659. California has the highest gas prices in the country, with an average price for regular-grade gas of $5.12 per gallon. Mississippi is the state with the least expensive gas, at $3.037 per gallon.
Here are the gas prices for a gallon of regular-grade gas in and around Washington, D.C., and a few other states.is $3.709. This is slightly more expensive than yesterday’s price of $3.706. However, it is cheaper than one week ago when the cost was $3.719.In Maryland, a gallon of regular-grade gas is $3.673. This is an increase from Monday’s price of $3.671 per gallon. However, both prices are more expensive than the average price from a week ago, which was $3.555 per gallon.
The average price for regular-grade gas in Texas was one of the lowest in the country, coming in at $3.118 per gallon. This was a slight decrease from Monday’s average, when the Lone Star State’s average was $3.126. It was also less expensive than a week ago, when gas was $3.166 per gallon.Oregon’s gas prices are among the highest in the country. On Tuesday, the average price for regular-grade gas in the Beaver State was $4.304 per gallon. This was a slight decrease from Monday’s average of $4.
