Inside GB News plans to poach older BBC viewers with anti-woke shows and expanded politics coverage 📺 Analysis from adamsherwin10

Nigel Farage’s GB News presenter has helped the right-wing GB News beat Sky News in the primetime ratings battle

GB News believes it can provide an alternative for older “anti-woke” BBC news viewers who want more debate about UK issues and political hot-button topics such as immigration. Late evening GB News shows, such as Dan Wootton’s “war on woke”, attract up to 100,000 viewers, dwarfing the numbers watching Rupert Murdoch’s rival TalkTV.‘s associate editor of politics, to leave the paper after almost 20 years to become the face of politics on GB News.’s short-lived tenure, with excellent contacts at the top of the Conservative party and brings in regular scoops through interviews with leading politicians on his weekly Chopper political podcast.

Whilst BBC news is closely scrutinised for any signs of bias, the upcoming general election gives the unashamedly right-wing GB News the opportunity to promote voices from outside of the mainstream political consensus, such as the actor Laurence Fox. The BBC said the merged international and UK channel would still be able to cover breaking UK stories. News staff fear stories of major national interest, such as floods, will get less attention if the content is being produced for a global audience.
