A "gem of a city" that has been described as an "ideal destination" can be flown to from Liverpool John Lennon Airport for £52. Located in Northern Ireland, Derry has long welcomed visitors.
At the time, easyJet said " is home of Ireland's only completely intact historic Walled City, the Derry Girls, a vibrant food scene, award winning museums and plenty to discover where the Wild Atlantic Way meets the Causeway Coastal Route. Scottish airline Loganair used to operate flights between Derry and Liverpool, having taken over the route from Ryanair in 2021, however, the airline dropped the route in January of this year.
This includes St Columb’s Cathedral, an architectural masterpiece which was the first cathedral built after the Reformation. One of the City’s most recognisable landmarks is also the Guildhall. Visitors can also see the People’s Gallery Murals - 12 murals decorating the gable ends of houses along Rossville Street. These fascinating pieces commemorate key events in Derry’s modern history.
