EXCLUSIVE: Former TOWIE star Gemma Collins talks exclusively to OK! about facing outdated snobbery, her surprising dream TV job and what life as The GC is really like
It’s been a busy year for the nation’s favourite diva, Gemma Collins, but she isn't about to slow down anytime soon.
In our interview, Gemma admits that while she'd love to branch out and host her own nature show, she often faces "snobbery" in the entertainment industry. Asked about the potential for her very own gardening show in the future, the superstar smiled as she admitted she hadn’t ruled it out – if someone would give her the opportunity.
The moving film was a deeply personal look at her own journey with self harm, which saw Gemma defy expectations and show a different side of herself to the world. One key component of this is the importance of self-care, and Gemma told us: “If I’m tired or if people are asking a lot of me, I always know to say no, it’s absolutely fine to say no. I will happily have an afternoon nap or take myself off to bed early if I need to.”
“Everyone wants a big fancy watch or a big rich boyfriend, or a big rich girlfriend, and it’s kind of immaterial. You’ve got to look to nature and be grounded in life, that’s what real self care is.” Discussing the possibility of a sequel as she navigates life post TOWIE, she admitted the idea wasn’t off the table - but did add that she had a different kind of book in mind.
“People really need to start loving nature and the youngsters of today really need to fall in love with nature and really start looking after it.”
