With polling day looming on July 4, the Record has the lowdown for voters on Glasgow East - a key battleground between the SNP and Labour.
The Daily Record is taking out some time during this busy general election campaign to focus on seats-to-watch in Scotland.
The party is putting forward John Grady, who lives in Glasgow and has spent a 25-year career in law, chiefly in the energy sector. To unseat the Nationalists here, Grady and the Labour party will need a fairly hefty swing of 7.62 per cent. It also now includes for the first time, after the recent redrawing of electoral boundaries, some areas south of the Clyde like the Gorbals and Govanhill. In an area that includes some of the poorest neighbourhoods in the UK, the cost of living crisis is a huge problem, as is the child poverty crisis and housing emergency.
Remember, if you’re going to a polling place to vote on July 4, you’ll now need to bring along photo ID such as a passport or driving licence.
