Owners of the 2024 Genesis GV70 are encouraged to use their parking brake, as a transmission issue could allow it to slip into neutral
Less than a day after its electrified sibling made headlines with a massive recall affecting 170,000 Hyundai group EVs in North America, the gasoline-powered Genesis GV70 is now caught up in its own recall saga. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration , on February 8, 2024, a Genesis GV70 at a dealership in the United States rolled out of its parking spot, injuring one person.
This installation error allowed water to leak into the connector, resulting in a transmission shifting error. This error could potentially cause the GV70 to slip into Neutral when it was intended to be in Park. Naturally, that's a problem, because a vehicle in Neutral could roll away on anything put perfectly flat ground.
