North Hykeham Town Council fears that a planned reduction in Police Community Support Officers will result in a significant decline in police services for the town and its surrounding villages.
The council argues that this move would result in a complete loss of PCSO coverage for North Hykeham and the surrounding villages. The council is urging for at least one dedicated PCSO to be stationed in North Hykeham, providing support to the town's single-crewed Community Beat Manager. "The people of North Hykeham, like those across the county, deserve the highest standard of policing service, and I have no doubt that the officers and staff of Lincolnshire Police share that belief and strive daily to deliver it," he stated.
"We understand that this news may cause concern in some communities as any reduction can create a perception of future gaps," he said.
