Gogglebox star Linda McGarry is said to be 'in bits' following the tragic death of her son George Gilbey, who has passed away at the age of 40 following a reported workplace accident
Gogglebox star George Gilbey's mum Linda McGarry is heartbroken after her son tragically died at the age of 40.
He had passed away days after being told he had six months to live after being diagnosed with bowel cancer - with wife Linda saying her son had been left "really cut up". Following the sad news of George's death, one of Linda's close friends has told The Sun: "First, she lost Pete, now her son as well. She is incredibly emotional. George was like her little treasure."
Former Geordie Shore star Ricci Guarnaccio led a wave of emotional tributes to George as he uploaded a flurry of pics of the pair together on his social media. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, he wrote: "Breaks my but @georgegilbey you are well and truely going to be missed my friend. A spokesperson for Gogglebox said: "George was part of the Gogglebox family for eight series alongside his mum Linda and step-dad Pete. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Linda, and George’s family and friends at this very sad time. The family have asked for privacy.”
