Gogglebox star George Gilbey's mum Lynne McGarry has been left devastated after the tragic death of her only son, after she and late husband Pete fostered 68 children
Lynne McGarry, the beloved TV mum who appeared on Gogglebox with her late son George Gilbey, is dealing with the heartbreaking loss of her only child. Lynne, who has spent years providing a loving home for troubled children in need, is now mourning the death of George.
In a chat back in 2016, Lynne explained why they chose to foster, saying that turning your back isn't an option when you have the space to provide a loving home. "We've now fostered 68 children and it's enhanced our lives so much," she told the Daily Star Sunday eight years ago. "When they've been taken away from their parents and siblings it can be dreadful for them. It's like a bereavement. It ain't their fault, it's just the situation they're in. They're often petrified when they first come to us. A lot of kids are bitter about the time they have with social services but ours aren't," reports the Mirror.
TV star George tragically passed away at the age of 40 on Wednesday following a reported workplace accident. The Gogglebox and Celebrity Big Brother star reportedly died at the scene following a fall which took place in Shoebury, Southend-on-Sea.
