The first presidential debate of the 2024 presidential race is scheduled to be held on June 27, with CNN hosting it.
and Jake Tapper and Dana Bash set to moderate it. The suggestion by Stephanopoulos comes as Trump has insisted theresults were illegitimate. The ABC News host suggested that asking him again during the debate would provide a different context from that which he has normally commented.
“In front of 140 million people, it’s a little different on a stage like that, and when it’s an actual debate, but it’s a real test,” Stephanopoulos said.would have to provide a good defense for the current state of the United States, including the rising cost of living and other issues affecting families. However, he stressed that it is “fundamental” if a candidate like Trump can accept the election results and the transfer of power.
Besides Trump and Biden, independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is also vying for a spot on the debate stage. Kennedyand has also surpassed eligibility of 270 electoral votes. If Kennedy manages to reach 15% in four qualifying national polls, he will be eligible to partake in the first presidential debate.
