David Redshaw, who organised buses for hundreds of Rangers fans for the Europa League final, thanked Glasgow's Aimee Smith for saving his life.
A football fan who became a Seville saviour for Rangers supporters will celebrate Christmas with friends - after a quick-thinking Scot saved his life. David Redshaw regularly runs buses for British holidaymakers wishing to take in a Malaga match whilst in Spain.
David, 62, said: "I was in Bar Ibensa when Aimee told me she was going to call an ambulance as I appeared to be acting in a confused state. I basically brushed her off and said I was okay. I then refused to get in the ambulance. Her partner Tom took me to hospital in his car on the pretext of taking me home.
He explained: "My first and overriding thought was that I would be like that for the rest of my life. My family arrived from the UK and I began to realise the seriousness of the situation. The doctors told them poisonous toxins had built up in my body and this could have resulted in death if Aimee had not called the ambulance when she had.
