Despite initial cancellations, Gervonta Davis' fight with Lamont Roach Jr. may still be happening in March.
The status of Gervonta Davis' next fight currently remains a mystery, though fans have been given fresh cause for optimism this week. At the same time Davis was seemingly announcing the cancellation of their fight, Roach released a video of himself shadow boxing in the gym after sparring. Lamont Roach's dad gives blunt statement on Gervonta Davis fight 'cancellation' 'The f*** ya keep asking me for?' he said, replying to fans on his Instagram story a couple of hours after Davis' initial post.
It remains to be seen whether the fight will go ahead, though fight organisers PBC have not released any statement confirming an official cancellation in the nine days since Davis' post. Davis has been radio silent since his initial post on Christmas Eve. However, on New Year's Day, fans were given fresh cause for optimism that the fight will still take place after all. And then Davis' own promotional company GTD Promotions shared this post on their story. They added the text 'See you March 1', seemingly indicating that the fight is going ahead as planned. Time will tell if it does indeed happen, but as things stand there has been no official notice of any cancellation
