Gerwyn Price, after being knocked out of the World Darts Championship by Chris Dobey, attributed his defeat to a recurring ear issue that has been plaguing him for years.
Gerwyn Price has revealed a problem with his ears after his exit from the World Darts Championship . The Welshman was defeated 5-3 by Chris Dobey in the quarter-finals on New Year's Day despite holding a 2-0 lead. Price seemed to regain momentum when Dobey missed five match darts, allowing Price to close the gap to 4-3. However, Dobey ultimately recovered to win and advance to his first World Championship semi-final.
Price, though, believes a persistent ear issue may have contributed to his loss. Speaking to the Daily Record, he said, 'It feels like I have been in a swimming pool of water. It’s frustrating. I pop my ears and it feels fine. Two minutes later, I have to do it again. It’s hard work. I have had this problem for the last six, seven, eight years, I am used to it now.' He added, 'I’m supposed to see an ear, throat and nose specialist, but it’s too busy, isn’t it? I miss so many appointments with the ENT. You end up having a tournament here and there. I end up playing darts.
