SAN ANTONIO - IHOP and South Texas Blood & Tissue have joined forces to offer blood donors who give at any donor center a coupon for a free buttermilk short stack.
From June 1-15, donors get a voucher to treat themselves to a short stack of buttermilk pancakes, redeemable at any IHOP restaurant in the greater San Antonio area. “This is a critical time for our blood supply. The need for blood continues, but the pace of donations traditionally slows during the summer months because there are no school drives and fewer donors are available because of travel,” said Francine Piña, Senior Manager of Marketing and Community Engagement for South Texas Blood & Tissue.
As one of the fastest-growing metro areas in the U.S., our area is experiencing a rising demand for blood. Since blood transfusions are one of the top procedures performed in hospitals, an increased number of hospital beds correlates to an increased need for blood.
