Mason Greenwood made his first Getafe appearance at the weekend and his manager apologised for a remark.
Getafe's manager has apologised for falsely claiming Jude Bellingham had recommended a move to Spain to Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood. Greenwood signed for Getafe on a season-long loan last month following a six-and-a-half-month investigation at Old Trafford, which decided that 'it would be most appropriate for him' to continue his career away from the club.
The 21-year-old made his first appearance for Getafe from the bench on Sunday and after the game, manager Jose Bordalas clarified his recent comments which suggested Real Madrid star Bellingham had spoken to Greenwood.ALSO READ: McTominay and Lindelof poor in Brighton defeat He then claimed that Greenwood was "friends with Bellingham" and that he'd "advised him to come to the Spanish league”. But Bellingham's entourage are said to have been unhappy with those comments and Bordalas has now issued a correction.
“It has been clarified to me that this was not the case. I apologise. Mason arrived in a different way. It was our interest and they offered him to me and we were very interested. I just wanted to clarify that, it was not a bad intention.”
