Barangay Ginebra began its move to shore up its wing position by signing up free agent David Murrell on Thursday.
The pro league's official website made the official announcement of the Gin Kings' move through its transaction page. Ginebra 's wing position weakened after high-leaping forward Jamie Malonzo hurt his calf a week ago. MRI results reveal a calf tear, which means he'll be out for at least six to eight weeks.
'We try to be creative with our lineup composition,' said Cone.Murrell's entry into the injury-riddled Ginebra team was made possible after the Gin Kings moved veteran guard Jared Dillinger to the unrestricted free agent list.The 27-year-old Murrell won the 2023 PBA Slam Dunk title in Passi City, Iloilo. He was traded to Magnolia, along with Abu Tratter by Converge in April 2023.
