Girl, 15, dies in Southampton boat crash
The RIB crashed with a buoy in the marina off SouthamptonTwelve people were on board the rigid inflatable boat when it hit a buoy at Marchwood Marina in The Solent just after 10:00 BST, police said.
Peter Brown, duty coxswain of Hamble Lifeboat, said passing boats had helped four people who required"urgent medical care" out of the water.The coastguard said it received multiple 999 and mayday calls following the crash near the entrance to the River Itchen.A statement released by Hampshire Constabulary said:"We are working alongside the Coastguard and MAIB following a collision between a RIB and a buoy in Marchwood Marina, Netley, at around 10:10am.
