A New York bankruptcy judge has denied Rudy Giuliani a chance to pursue an appeal of a $148 million defamation judgment for spreading lies about the the 2020 election. The judge says Tuesday that he was “disturbed” by the lack of progress in the case.

A New York bankruptcy judge rejected Giuliani’s request to pursue an appeal of a $148 million defamation judgment for spreading lies about the the 2020 election and said he was “disturbed” by the lack of progress in the five-month-old case on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.
“They have done nothing. They sold nothing. They settled nothing,” said Rachel Strickland, an attorney representing the election workers. She accused Giuliani of getting fired on purpose by “deliberately flouting his employer’s restrictions.”
