Juneau is dealing with the aftermath of glacial outburst flooding on the Mendenhall River, while record high temperatures were seen in Deadhorse with an all-time high of 89 degrees!
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Record high water levels in the Mendenhall River and valley are now dropping, but not before flooding homes along the river.
The City and Borough of Juneau officials estimate some 100 homes were impacted, along with roads flooding. Reported water levels were 1 to 3 feet. An all-time high temperature also occurred Tuesday for Barter Island, with 74 degrees. The old all-time temperature dates back to 1957 with 72 degrees.
