The Ethnic Minority Law Centre, and the Scottish Refugee Council have confirmed the closure of their offices in the city today (August 7) after riots broke out in England.

A number of services and charities which support refugees and asylum seekers have decided to shut their doors in Glasgow today following concerns of potential unrest in the city.

The Ethnic Minority Law Centre and the Scottish Refugee Council have confirmed their offices are closed in Glasgow city centre today. The Scottish Refugee Council also told Glasgow Live the free helpline will be open this afternoon for those in need of support Citizens Advice Scotland also confirmed their Glasgow office has been shut as a precaution and staff are working from the Edinburgh office.However, Citizen Advice Bureaus across the city do remain open and there is no interruption to the actual advice services being provided.
