Huge crowds came together in the city centre at a pro-Palestine demonstration. It comes amid a mass exodus from northern Gaza after Israel's military told them to evacuate ahead of an expected ground invasion.

The renewed violence came after an attack last week by Hamas left hundreds of Israeli civilians and soldiers dead. "There will be innocent people who will pay tragically with their life, but this is a state of war and we have to prevent anyone from harming us again," she told Times Radio.Scottish First Minister Yousaf condemned the order to evacuated 1.1 million Palestinians in Gaza, saying there was "no justification for the death of innocent men, women and children".
