It is not yet clear why the mid-air emergency was declared
The plane took off from Glasgow International Airport at 2.50pm today and was scheduled to land in Amsterdam at 5.25pm.Traffic control in the area were alerted to the mid-air emergency while the plane was flying over the North Sea.
