Mum Deborah Ameh was woken by her fire alarm after the blaze broke out in her rented house on Forge Street in the Germiston area of Glasgow at around 6.30am on Wednesday, October 2.

It has been devastating but I am so grateful that my children and grandma are safe and well, it could have been a very different story. I'm thanking god that we are all well and that nobody died."

After quickly getting out of the property, the family watched on as the inferno engulfed their home before Deborah was rushed to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to smoke inhalation. Shocking footage shows the smouldering aftermath of the property, which has been left completely destroyed by the blaze. The living room has been left gutted after walls and ceilings collapsed during the inferno.
