The 21st edition of Glasgow Film Festival (GFF) will showcase 13 world and European premieres, including the opening night gala film Tornado starring Tim Roth and Jack Lowden. The festival will also feature UK premieres of The Return with Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche and Long Day’s Journey Into Night with Jessica Lange and Ed Harris. Glasgow-born actor James McAvoy will participate in a live in conversation event.
Actor James McAvoy will be among those taking part in this year’s Glasgow Film Festival which will include premieres featuring stars such as Ralph Fiennes, Juliette Binoche and Tilda Swinton.
Starring Tim Roth, Jack Lowden, Takehiro Hira and Koki, it is set in 1790s Britain and was shot on location in Scotland. GFF25 marks the final festival for Allison Gardner, chief executive of Glasgow Film and director of GFF, after more than 30 years at Glasgow Film. “I shall be sad that this is my last festival as I’ve had so many magical moments over the years, but I know the great work we have done will ensure that audiences, filmmakers and industry colleagues will continue to support what I consider to be the best film festival in the world.”
