A Bristish Airways flight that set off from Glasgow and headed towards London made a u-turn minutes before landing.
The plane was on track as it made it's way south of the border and approached the UK capital, reports the Daily Record.But as it drew closer to London City Airport, it was met with Air Traffic Control Restrictions and was abruptly diverted by pilots. Flight tracker data showed the plane returning to Glasgow at around 10.24am - two-and-a-half hours after leaving the same airport.
Flights arriving from Glasgow were expect to be held up. Flights from Amsterdam, Berlin, Dublin, Dusseldorf and Rotterdam were also cancelled.
