A Glasgow gangster has been described as a 'key link' in the crime syndicate at the heart of the UK's 'biggest ever detected drugs conspiracy'. Sohail Qureshi , 64, was convicted of conspiracy to import cocaine and/or heroin and conspiracy to import cannabis following the longest criminal trial in England and Wales. Qureshi was recruited to the gang in 2017 alongside Ghazanfar Mahmood .
The pair developed a new transport route for drugs into the UK, smuggling an estimated 50 tonnes of drugs into the country. Qureshi, now awaiting sentencing, was a direct link between UK and Dutch gangs, with 18 members jailed as a result of an international investigation
