A warning for heavy rain is in place as the third day of the UCI World Cycling Championships kicks off ⚠🌧
Glasgow has been hit with a weather warning for heavy rain today ahead of another busy day for the UCI Cycling World Championships.
The Met Office yellow warning came into effect at 10.10am today and will remain in place until 4pm today. Members of the public have been warned there is a risk of surface water flooding on roads. A statement from the Met Office reads: "Heavy slow moving showers over southern Aberdeenshire Angus and Fife will slowly move west then southwest this morning, moving over the central belt early afternoon. Showers are likely to give 10-15 mm of rain in an hour with locally 20-25 mm in an hour."This will result in some surface water flooding, giving difficult driving conditions. Showers will gradually ease through the afternoon.
It comes as the third day of the UCI Cycling World Championships kick off, with multiple road closures in place. The full list of today's closure can be found here. Across the next two weeks, drivers are being asked to plan their journey before they leave by checking which roads they won't have access to and if necessary, taking a different route.
