The Foreign Office has updated its travel advice for Egypt and Morocco following an attack by Iran on Israel last week, with Glaswegian's warned to be vigilant.
Glasgow tourists planning trips to Egypt or Morocco have been issued a stark warning by the Foreign Office as tensions escalate in the Middle East. Following significant incidents over the weekend, travellers are advised to stay alert.
For those considering Egypt, which borders Israel, there are specific recommendations to heed. The official line from the government is: "FCDO advises against all travel to within 20km of the Egypt-Libya border, except for the town of El Salloum ." "The authorities in Egypt have a significant security presence across the country, including armed security officers at important sites, critical infrastructure and road checkpoints. Extra measures are in place at tourist sites."
