Homeless Project Scotland's glass door was smashed in following an incident at the night shelter on Glassford Street, after an 'angry' person was not able to enter the building.

A Glasgow homeless charity has had the door of its night shelter smashed in following a late night incident.

The glass of Homeless Project Scotland's door was broken at the premises on Glassford Street in the city centre after an 'angry' person was not able to enter the building. The incident happened at around 12.45am this morning . The charity has confirmed that the shelter has since been secured and they are now working to get a replacement door. They are appealing for anyone able to help to contact them.

Over the winter, Homeless Project Scotland introduced the country's first entirely volunteer-run emergency night shelter.

Sharing the incident on social media, the charity said: "We had an angry person tonight as they could not come into the shelter and they decided to break the door. The door has been secured and we are trying to organise a replacement glass door if you can help please get in touch."
