Leading the campaign is a woman who was sexually assaulted on her way home from her hotel job.
Glasgow hospitality workers are demanding to be provided with free transport at the end of their shift after a hotel worker was sexually assaulted on her way home from work.
Since the campaign was started in 2021, similar schemes have been introduced by Edinburgh City Council, East Dunbartonshire, North Ayrshire, Falkirk and Dundee. “This motion is incredibly important in shifting the responsibility to Glasgow employers and Unite Hospitality will always fight for workers’ safety in their workplace and on their way home.”
“They go above and beyond to serve our city well to Glaswegians as well as international visitors, it’s time we stood up for them and give them the respect they deserve.”
