Stevie Doc, from Glasgow, made her debut on the ABBA reality show Mamma Mia! last night. The programme is searching for a man and woman to take on the roles of characters of Sophie and Sky in the London West End musical.

A Glasgow woman who appeared on TV show Mamma Mia! said she felt her late mum was with her throughout her time on the programme.

Stevie said her family are all proud of her appearance on the show and that her mum – who was a huge karaoke fan – would be delighted. “She had the talent and, to me, was a very, very confident person but I think being on TV would have been petrifying for her. For me? Not so much.” She didn’t get in but auditioned again the following year and was successful. Two years after that she went to London’s ArtsEd drama school and graduated from the three-year course earlier this year.
