A stunning nine-bedroom townhouse in Glasgow has captured the imagination of house hunters across the UK, becoming one of the most viewed properties of 2024.

A jaw-dropping Glasgow mansion on the market for offers over £2.5 million has become one of the most viewed homes of 2024. The nine-bedroomed townhouse, in the city's exclusive Park Circus, wowed house hunters when it went up for sale earlier this year. The four-storey home is situated in the historic Victorian building known as La Casa, which once served the city's Italian consulate.

And it seems its eye-watering price tag wasn't enough to stop people poring over the pictures of the property which was built in the 1870s, perhaps dreaming of being able to own such a place. And property website Rightmove has revealed that new data shows it in the top five most viewed homes of the year across the UK. It sits in the company of a house owned by a legendary football manager and a listed building. Its property expert Tim Bannister said: 'From a luxurious former football manager’s residence to a historic Grade I listed Abbey, the most viewed homes of the year reflect the wide-ranging dreams of home-hunters this year across Great Britain. 'Whether it’s a property fit for royalty opposite Buckingham Palace, or a stunning family home, these remarkable listings showcase the unique charm and diversity of the UK housing market, offering something for everyone.” The listing is described as blending 'intricate period details with modern restorations, offering potential as a luxurious residence, high-end apartments, or an events venue'. But not all were fans of the sprawling property when it was put on the market by Savills estate agents. Rightmove described it as a 'precious piece of architectural history' with 'period details including iconic columns and marble staircase'. And despite it being restored and redeveloped, with two kitchens and six bathrooms, some viewers on X, formerly known as Twitter, were critical. One said: 'It looks like a municipal building, not a home. It's a no from me.' Another commented: 'I wouldn't want to live there
