Three rape survivors have waived their right to anonymity

MMA fighter Paul Callanin was convicted of sexually assaulting Danielle Barr, Alexandra Bhengu-Smith and Violet Fox, with the trio asking: "Why should we hide if we've done nothing wrong?"

"I don't care how long he gets as he's labelled as what he is. He's guilty. That's all I needed. I just needed to be believed." Despite the “hell” she endured, Danielle told how she hoped her story would inspire others not to suffer in silence. She has a career as a surveyor, adding: “Being a victim of sexual assault doesn’t mean you’re not going to become anything.

Danielle’s found close bonds with Violet and Alexandra, adding: “It’s like having instant best friends because you don’t have to explain what you’ve been through. Trauma bonds people. And we’re not done yet. Good will come of this.” He was found guilty of two rape charges involving Danielle and convicted of sexual assault and raping Violet. He will be sentenced at a later date. Alexandra hopes Callanin will receive a significant jail term, adding: “I want him to get a long time because he’s dangerous. He has shown no remorse for what he has done.”

They said: “He pinned me to the floor and sexually assaulted me twice. He then took me to his flat where he raped me.
